In two and a half years, Boris Johnson’s government managed to create more scandals and obfuscations than had happened in the previous two and a half decades. We all lived through it - but some only remained sane because of Boris’s witty, and sometimes ridiculous letters with his sign offs in Boris’s favourite long-dead language, Latin.

When the years have rolled by, people will be amazed at how Michael Rosen managed to entertain an often sad and downcast public when ‘Cactus in rectum’ immediately leapt to No 1 in the cod-latin sign off hit parade in July 2022.
