Elizabeth Dye, a biologist and author of several books for children, has had an enduring interest in the natural world, particularly plant life and the flora and fauna of the British Isles. This interest began with her childhood experiences of growing up on a farm in Essex, detailed in her book Pigs In The Garden.
After her children left home, the sad early death of her husband and her retirement from teaching she pursued with vigour her many interests that include painting, writing and support for her local church and horticultural society.
